Calendar year 2020 was a difficult year for everyone due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Christian churches were shut-down for extended periods of time. However, not all churches were shut-down as there were many non-Christian denomination churches which remained open throughout the pandemic.
At Christus Rex, we were closed for only the two weeks in spring of 2020 when public officials requested a 15-day shut down to slow the spread of the pandemic. Additionally, we omitted singing hymns, discontinued passing the offering plate, and the pastor served Holy Communion to people sitting in their seat instead of gathering at the altar to receive Christ's body and blood in, with, and under the unleavened waver and wine.
As relief from the pandemic appeared to arrive, we gradually resumed the singing of hymns, and gathering at the altar to receive the Lord's Supper. However, we continue to leave the offering plate at the back of the church for those wishing to return a portion of gifts received from the Lord.
With this being written, some of the sermons were shortened during the height of the pandemic. The sermons listed seasonally provided on this website are manuscripts of sermons delivered by Pastor Craig S Rendahl. We pray as you read those sermons of interest that you grow in the true faith for the Apostle Paul wrote in Rom 10:17 - So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (NASB20)
