Welcome to Christus Rex Lutheran Church of Rio Rico, AZ. We are a Lutheran church affiliated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
Our teachings are consistent with the Book of Concord published in 1580. The Book of Concord is a summary of the Christian faith as given to us by our Lord Jesus in the 66 canonical books of the bible. The Lord Jesus is the Word as the Apostle John has written by inspiration in John chapter #1.
We believe, teach, and confess that life begins at the moment of conception. We based this belief in part on what King David wrote in Psalm 139:13-16 as quoted from the NASB20 - 13 For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You When I was made in secret, And skillfully formed in the depths of the earth; 16 Your eyes have seen my formless substance; And in Your book were written All the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.
We therefore rejoice in the decision by the US Supreme Court to undo the damage done to this nation through elective abortion. The barbaric means of aborting an unborn child should have been made clear to US citizens and legislated - not come to pass by Court fiat as happened in 1973. The Lord will now be able to publicly show the hearts of the people of this nation on whether they will preserve innocent life. Regrettably, some states will choose to ignore the Lord's word and buy into Satan's lies. However, for those states which will follow the Lord's word, we pray a distinction is made. We pray that the Lord will bless those who follow Him, and withhold blessings to those states which will not repent of the sin of elective abortion. There will then be clear evidence as to God's sovereign rule over all the affairs of mankind.
We pray for all women suffering with Post Abortion Syndrome. Please understand there is no sin that caused our Lord Jesus to hang on the cross one minute longer for anything any penitent sinner has done. When Jesus said from the cross, "It is finished", that was the completion of the plan of salvation the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit put together before the foundations of the earth were laid. The Apostle Paul was a persecutor of Christians and cast votes against them in life or death decisions. Jesus not only forgave Paul, but also made him a tireless worker in the kingdom of our Lord. His words to the church at Philippi about his past were these - 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil 3:13-14). If you are a woman suffering with Post Abortion Syndrome, please visit Lutherans for Life, and get in contact with someone who can help you through this.
And lastly on this topic, we ask of visitors to this website, what is the difference between sacrificing a child by burning in the womb with saline solution and the detestable practices of ancient Canaan per Jeremiah 32:35 - 35 [The Lord said] They built the high places of Baal that are in the Valley of Ben-hinnom to make their sons and their daughters pass through the fire to Molech, which I had not commanded them, nor had it entered My mind that they should do this abomination, to mislead Judah to sin. Please read Deuteronomy chapter 19 and prayerfully consider what the Lord has said on the issue of elective abortion as it relates to the innocent shedding of blood.
